October 23, 2024: The Havelock Military Affairs Committee (MAC) honored the October 2024 Service Person of the Quarter with an award luncheon.

This Quarter's Awardee is: Sgt. Bryhan Primero

Sgt. Primero has demonstrated exceptional dedication to both his Military service and our community.

Originally from Camden, New Jersey, Sgt. Primero enlisted in the United States Marine Corps on September 7, 2020. Since joining Marine Wing Communications Squadron 28 in June 2021, he has deployed multiple times to Norway for cold weather and Nordic response operations. Beyond his service, Sgt. Primero is passionate about fitness and enjoys helping others grow and improve.

His volunteer work includes supporting the Havelock Animal Shelter, assisting with cleanup efforts at Havelock schools and Cherry Point, and offering his time to PruittHealth Hospice in Craven, Onslow, and New Bern. Nominated by SSgt Erik Meyers, who noted, “Sgt. Primero consistently dedicates his personal time to volunteering in the community and finds purpose in helping others.” He also serves as a representative for the Single Marine Program, organizing volunteer opportunities for fellow Marines.

The MAC celebrated Sgt. Primero with a delicious lunch prepared by Big Apple Pizza Bistro. Additionally, Mayor William L. Lewis issued a Proclamation honoring Sgt. Primero, the Havelock MAC presented him with a plaque and check, while members of the MAC Committee also gave gifts.
